Review on Modern Masters 1 Gal ME700 Black Pearl Metallic Paint Collection Water-Based Decorative Metallic Paint by Ronnie Toups

I decided to use the black pearl metallic on an accent wall. I was actually worried it might be too extreme, but I had a vision of a sweet metallic black wall with a black, wall mounted tv, so I painted it with 2 coats of the black pearl. I can’t see the metallic at all. I followed all directions very carefully, because when your paying $130 for a gallon of specialty paint - you pay attention. I watched the videos on YouTube, bought the mfg recommended acrylic primer, even purchased the paint extender. I made sure it was mixed well and rolled it on the way the video described. It looks like a satin black. At first, I thought it was because I didn’t have proper white based lighting to emphasize the metallic, so then I even bought 2 modern lamps. to try and see if that would make it look metallic, but it doesn’t. I asked friends and nobody else could tell at all. So. I’m about $200 in the hole on paint, primer, and extender, and another $70 on lights, for a small, satin black wall. Very disappointing. I really dig the black wall. but wish I would have just gone $30 Sherwin Williams.
