I use this tool to hold veggies because weights that are good for everything else are not good for veggies. Too many air pockets in my vacuum bags cause them to float on top despite the heavy weight. This worked, but it didn't work the way I imagined. See my photos for this part. I tried submerging it in preheated water with food but it was a nightmare, bad idea. You can easily put this device in a water bath, but the problem is putting food in a water bath first. Maybe it's the plastic lid I'm using that could be better designed to have more space. more time with it if there is a problem.
