I usually wait a few months before reviewing a product, but I am writing this review after installation. The ski carrier is designed for the Infiniti QX50. The installation was uncomplicated. This is a standard stand. It does not slip out of the base to give you ski access when mounted on a full size car. It is ideal for a small SUV or a car. I put a snowboard and some skis in the trunk. I pulled the skis to the side of the car and the whole car started shaking. The ski carrier is designed for heavy loads. The lock is a fixed lock. More expensive brands have removable locks, but they are much more expensive. I ski about 100 days a year and don't have time to change ski bindings on vehicles, so each vehicle has its own ski bindings. I think this stand is perfect for my QX50. I will update sometime in December.
