This is a very pretty blanket as shown in the picture and looks really good out of the bag. But if you look closely at the blanket, it's a very cheap material and very poorly finished. The one I received has patches in the middle of the patchwork design. This duvet will not withstand washing and drying for you, I can almost guarantee that. After the first wash, all the dark colors flowed into the light ones, but that's not the worst. The fabric melted and burned holes in the dryer. I followed all wash and dry instructions and it still deteriorated badly after the first wash. Even if you have a pet, the microfiber will cling to every strand of hair it lands on. It didn't even survive a wash. To put it more simply, after I told them about the incident with the washing machine, they immediately offered to pick it up with no problem. It's just a bad product and if you can afford something better I would definitely make the investment if you ever plan on washing it. One last note, I have a regular queen bed and the Cal King size is perfect for it. I'm not suggesting you buy it at all, but if you have a large double bed, you're doubly wasting your time.
