Review on FROGG TOGGS Women's Classic All-Purpose Waterproof Breathable Rain Suit: Stay Dry in Style by Stanley Redline

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Dental bib material that really works.

Weekly trip to Iceland; Glacier hikes, waterfall hikes - the weather also constantly predicted heavy rain. A raincoat was needed, but funds were limited. Bought an oversized frogg toggs with black pants and a cherry blossom jacket. When it arrived I inspected the stitching, zippers, clasps, everything. Everything was solid. although this suit is essentially made of dental bib material. I didn't have high hopes. I rolled it up and it didn't take up any space in my suitcase which was great. I pulled on my layers (it's literally paper, so you'll need thermos if it's cold) and went glacier hiking and ice climbing in the pouring rain, wearing a harness over a raincoat. Not only was I bone dry, but the friction from the strapping had no effect on the material/seams! Velcro straps allow the wearer to secure the waist and hood, while elasticated cuffs at the wrists secure the sleeves. In addition, there is an overlap at the waist. So pulling your pants up and your jacket down and tightening the buckles double seals your core. The jacket also has a button closure with a zip. After outings; dries surprisingly fast. Cons: No pockets in jacket or pants. The cuffs of the pants have Velcro that allows the wearer to undo them, pull them over boots and bulky clothing, eventually (once fastened at the ankle or boot) leaving a four to five inch gap on the outside of the leg. above the ankle. This allows both moisture and cold air to get in, requiring a bit of strategic pocketing. All in all FANTASTIC. I might look like Sta-Puft Marshmallow Man in my thick layers, but I ended up being the one with a warm, dry laugh.
