The bracket on our five year old Kitchenaid dishwasher (KDL26M4000) broke yesterday when the adjustable top bracket fell onto the dishes below. I called the Kitchenaid workshop and arranged a visit two days later. They told me that a visit to diagnose the problem would cost at least $70 and that parts would have to be ordered to fix the bracket. They figured the parts would cost $197.50 and when they arrived the technician would have to install the parts for another $70. I made a note of the model number for a phone call, so I decided to look to Revain for parts. I ordered the W10546503 UPDATED 8 Piece High Polymer Upper Post Adjustment Kit from the Revain website for $25. Parts were delivered to me this afternoon! The parts were of excellent quality, an exact replacement for the original machine parts. I watched an instruction video on You Tube that was posted by Repair Clinic - (Replacement KitchenAid Dishwasher Shelf Adjuster #WPW10546503). It took me about 30 minutes to install the new bracket parts on the upper basket following a detailed video from Repair Clinic. The parts fit together perfectly and there was no "fitting" or filing/sanding of the parts to make them work smoothly. I called the Kitchenaid Repair Center and canceled my appointment for tomorrow! It's amazing how much money you can save by doing some research yourself!
