It's hard to get a perfect finish so I bought this when I was installing new floors in 2 bathrooms. The glue was almost like sticky putty. I cleaned the surface thoroughly and let it dry, applied it straight the first time so I didn't pull it back, and pressed down with a rubber tool as I applied so it adhered well. You can apply pressure with your hand, but if you use a tool that won't damage the plastic, you can apply more pressure to it. Also make sure the glue is warm or at least room temperature. (it's stickier when its not cold) As long as mine sticks really well. If it starts to peel off I plan on using liquid nails to put it back on but it's pretty good at it so I'm hoping it won't be necessary. The people who said it was junk were either given bad glue, tried to apply it when the glue was cold, applied it to a dirty surface, or did something else wrong. I would definitely buy it again even if I had to apply more glue. That. I never managed to make the seal look perfect.
