I'm a very heavy AirPods user. I use it all day for work, video conferencing, then in the evening for my daily walk, and for watching tv on my computer afterwards, and then at night to watch some youtube videos in my bed. So I have them on my ears a lot.First of all, is a nightmare to install, and they never get fully adhered. The top part had some kind of a little bubble on the side, that I was never able to get rid of. And I did cleaned the surfaces before installation, and checked for no rough edges that could scratch the AirPods, like the video instructions say. Then this morning, I lifted my AirPods, and heard like something rubbing off a knife's edge, and I saw a part of the "protector" lifted. When I tried to put it back in I almost cut my finger, so I removed the whole thing and realized that it was broken in 2 places. And it was the lower part, which looked like it was installed completely, but nope. It broke. Thankfully it wasn't at night, which I could have cut myself, or maybe a piece of the metal protector adhering to the AirPods making its way to my ear canal. That would have been a disaster. This was 2 weeks of normal daily use.Let's be clear. Apple spent a good amount of time and money designing the perfect wireless earphones. There is no need for an extra thing to put inside of them. If the magnets inside the case attract dust and metal particles, well there are things called a small brush and canned air that will definitively fix that. Now that I realize that, I feel so stupid having spent on an accessory that is simply useless.Sadly, I bought the 2x box, so I still have a spare.
