I bought a pack of two of these bowls to add to my new Nesco Garden Master Dehydrator. My experience with the Square Nesco Dehydrator has taught me that there is a limit to the number of trays you can use before the drying time stretches to unreasonable lengths. Using eight trays at Nesco in a 700w room really increased the time it took my dogs to dehydrate sweet potatoes, so going down to six trays made sense. From a Nesco Garden Magist perspective, buy four extra trays instead of the two I bought. After thinking about it, I decided to add just two to see how the new, more powerful dehydrator works. You can always add more trays later if that proves to be a good option. I'm glad I only bought two extras. 1000 watts of power instead of 700 watts sound much more powerful, but the results do not confirm any additional efficiency. I used both six-pan Nescos for sweet potato slices to compare the time they take to fully dry. Both returned similar results within a 12 hour time frame - and both took an additional two hours to complete the work. Your results will vary depending on how thick you cut your slices and how much you put on each tray. But if you don't mind waiting 14 hours to get the job done, stick with just six trays for each dehydrator.
