I wasn’t sure how hard it would be or if it would work at all! After reading other reviews we were not sure how easy it would be. Our project was a small sized walk in closet. Two people putting it up together makes it easier for sure when you have long stretches! There are lines on the back of the paper to help you cut a straight line. After cutting the piece I would roll it up and unpeel one edge. One of us would get it lined up on the wall and start smoothing it out as the other would peel back the backing and unroll down the wall. We found this method the easiest and quickest way. Also we had a foam knockdown knife used for textured walls. We used this knockdown knife to help apply even pressure to smooth out and make sure it was adhered to the wall. Part of our closet is new drywall and part is old closet that had been painted a medium shade of green. I thought this would cover completely but you can see the darker places on the wall as well as the drywall joint lines. If I were to do it again I would paint the walls bright white so it’s all uniform. Painting it bright white would also make the shiplap appear a brighter white as well. The first 3 rolls everything was perfect but on the 4th roll there was a tear imperfection in the roll that repeated itself. Since it is in the closet not a big deal but when it comes time to do the closet doors in our spare rooms it may be an issue where we have to cut the section out and piece in another. Overall all of the lines lined up good and it’s a good product. It will not work on textured walls! It will not work on dusty walls! Make sure you have cleaned smooth walls when you start. On sections 32” and shorter my husband and I worked individually, on the 54” and 88.5” sections we worked together. Hope this helps anyone looking for advice!
