I had to turn on the Christmas lights on my car for the parade. This device worked great. The cable is long enough to install the adapter on a flat surface. It works regardless of whether the machine is on or not (at least for us), although we chose not to start it when the machine is off. Everything ran for over 3 hours and the box never got warm. I could feel the little fan running to cool it down! We ran with 3-15 foot strings of lights and a lighted arch. We haven't tried USB chargers, but I think they will work better than the in-car ones. I can't wait to use it again. I am very curious how it will work when we are a car camp and for my business.
