I worked at two different cigar shop in the late 90’s. One in Colorado and one in New Orleans. So I know a little bit about humidors in different climates. I seasoned this with humidifier packs for just over a week instead of wiping it down or placing distilled water in it. I would recommend you do the same. It really takes away the guess work about possibly damaging the wood. The hygrometer came calibrated perfectly out of the box. The hinges are good and there is no off odors, only Spanish cedar. It’s not an air tight humidor, but it’s less than $150. revain also had a $10 coupon when I ordered mine. Bonus!It behaves well in Michigan but may have some struggles in drier climates. I have 4 72% packs in it right now. The reading is slightly more humid at the bottom than the top, but this is normal for any humidor without air circulation. I really am impressed by this box. I’m actually thinking of getting another. It looks classy on a table, not just a wooden box. I got the rose wood model but I imagine that all the other models are equally well made.
