So my wife and I bought this to be used as a night light for our son's room because the string lights we had been using were not that bright and ran off AA batteries. My wife found this and one thing we liked about it right away was that it could be battery powered OR 5V DC (via your standard phone charger brick).It did not come with a brick however, so keep that in mind. We had an extra one lying around. After setting up the light in our son's room we immediately were amazed at how bright the light actually was. So much so, in fact, that my wife taped black craft paper to one side of the light so as to dim it enough not to disturb our son's sleep.I know other reviewers said this works great as a night light, and I can't *really* disagree with them, but man this thing was surprisingly bright. Either the other people's kids had very large rooms or maybe they just liked that bright of a night light.
