I have always used Malouf protectors on my bed and have been very satisfied. When it came time to buy new protectors I decided to look for other brands as the Malouf products I needed were out of stock. I came across this brand that made the same promises (softness, comfort, water resistance, etc.) at half the price. I work in the animal rescue industry, so I often have foster families. Some are too young or too sick to learn the litter box trick right now, but they always do the trick of getting in bed with me. Needless to say, my main concern was to ensure the pad protectors are waterproof. You can't screw up waterproofing, right? So I decided to try this brand. I should not have done that. One of the smallest creatures in the house has laid itself in my bed. It was so small that in a few minutes it dried on the pillowcase itself. It took me a while to recognize the bed. I had waterproof protectors everywhere so I took my time. But when I pulled out the pillow there was a small wet spot on it. These protective pillowcases are NOT waterproof. They don't excel when it comes to comfort or softness, but they will suffice for the price. If you really need your pillowcases to be waterproof, don't buy them.
