They *WORK* for connecting monitors to the Microsoft Surface Dock

I got them to connect 2 monitors to my Surface Pro 7 using the Surface Dock (1st gen model). Surface Dock has 2 mini DP out ports and luckily my monitors have DP in ports. At first I thought these cables were bad because they wouldn't work at all with my Surface Dock. If you have a Surface Dock and it's not working for you, don't be too quick to blame the cables, as it's most likely not the cables (in this particular case I'm about to describe). The Surface Pro Dock worked with the display. port when it first appeared, but then Intel changed its software drivers for the display chip in the Surface Dock. Because Windows 10 scans and updates everything for the latest software, Intel drivers are properly updated when Intel releases new ones. The problem is that the *newer* version of Intel graphics drivers (on Surface Pro 7) doesn't work. does not work with the Surface Dock. . . GENERAL! It took me a while to figure it out and the solution is very stupid but it works. You must manually download the older version of the Intel IRIS graphics drivers for Intel Integrated Graphics. Specifically, I had to use version 25.20.100.7101, which is from an older version of the Surface Pro 7 driver package called "SurfacePro7_Win10_18362_19.103.34215.0.msi". You only need the graphics drivers from this package, nothing else. . Attempting to run this package will not work because you will get a message saying there are newer drivers and it will exit. Rather than trying to explain everything here I'll just say do a search on the internet and if you're tech savvy you will be able to find out. I will attach some photos showing the versions that work. Unless Intel releases a patch, this is the best solution I've found to get my Surface Pro 7 working with dual DP monitors via the Surface Dock. If you have a tech-savvy friend, just show them the pictures and they can get your Surface Dock working with these cables. All of this was just to put some of the other reviews in context. There may be people who have received defective cables, but if they mention problems with Intel graphics, then it's probably not a defective cable. Again, this is just my personal experience with cables on Surface Pro 7 with Surface Dock (1st Gen). YMMV. All in all this is a great opportunity to get everything working on my 2 1920x1080 monitors. This is a good quality cable and having two sets was just what I needed. I hope this can help anyone having the same problem. I would buy them again and would definitely recommend them for the specific devices mentioned above. Great quality, great price.
