As a cocktail shaker, it works really well. After literally one weekend of use, the paint on the tin started chipping real bad. It would make a better decorative piece than a functional one. Also notes some rusting in the seam where the bottom of the tin and the tin walls meet. I have hand washed only. If it went in the dishwasher I have no doubt the paint would be completely gone. Just buy a regular stainless shaker, not worth buying to have the paint come off after a weekend of use.
