Socket hole too big

Filter fits perfectly, seems reasonably well made except the socket hole is too big and the material is thinner in that area so it bobs up and down and around. Contact. An improper fit will leak and bypass the filter. Don't take a 30-minute drive to return a $15 item. I might see if I can cut the bushing out of the old filter and glue it onto the new one instead, but it's not a permanent solution. My vacuum is a Craftsman CMXEVBE17595 16 gallon 6.5 hp that was purchased in the last few months.
