Quality is dropping on this one
Purchased to replace an identical 2014 SKU and part number. This 2017-18 version appears to be a softer/weaker/lighter aluminum barrel stock. The magnet fell off after a few weeks so I need to fix it. A carbide tip seems suitable so far, but is only used about 90% on wood. I will no longer buy this product here or from General. I would pay more for a better product that doesn't seem to be subject to the almighty god of profitability. Now we know.
