Review on 🚀 Kenwood KMR-M328BT Marine Digital Media Receiver: Alexa, Bluetooth & No CD Playback by Richard Turner

There is nothing "marine " in it. It throws internal error codes.

Installed in a boat last weekend. It worked fine on the water for several days and then suddenly gave a "Protection Sending Service" error that rendered it inoperable. A few quick Google searches reveal this to be a common Kenwood problem. Thankfully I was able to reset the receiver following the YouTube video, but it's only a matter of time before this comes up again. There's almost no weather protection over a standard car stereo, and I doubt this thing will survive a light splash - let alone the tougher demands of the marine environment. I consider myself lucky that I worked with it for a year, then I just switch to a competent marine radio. UPDATE: Extra star removed. Now the block is completely out of service. Less than 30 days of use in a sealed dash compartment and the receiver will show visible signs of corrosion on all connectors and the circuit board - all visible on the back of the unit. The internal amplifier has failed and is no longer delivering sound to the speakers. I sent it back to the seller and they can deal with Kenwood. Even if they wanted to replace it under warranty it wouldn't make sense since I don't put a new head unit in every month. I switched to a Clarion marine head unit and the difference is the day and night protection. All connectors are sealed/plugged and there is no exposed circuitry - as you would expect from a marine radio. This garbage.
