like so many others, my Macbook wouldn't boot after I installed the driver. When I entered the password, the progress bar would quickly advance to about halfway, then crawl to the end, then. nothing. Waited for minutes with not change. Couldn't boot in safe mode. Finally - waited at the password screen until the message about 'having trouble entering your password?' showed up. Followed the instructions from that message: shut it down by holding the power button until it turned off, then restarted it. Had to unlock the encrypted disk and restart from there. Sorry this is a bit vague but I'm going from memory - the OS will more or less lead you through it. At this restart, it looked as though it wasn't going to work, but then a minute or so after the progress bar reached its end, the machine finally started up.The cable is now working with an older VGA display. But there's no excuse for the buggy software. And there's no tech support - you're on your own.
