I finally had to replace the starter motor in my 1988 GMC Suburban after 31 years of use and the new one looks just as strong as the old one. Great fit and finish and also came with gaskets (didn't need them for my setup) with new screws for the solenoid and heat shield. The very simple installation took about 45 minutes. Just a word of warning, the old and new starters are VERY heavy. Be careful when removing the old starter if it is under the car. Hopefully this new starter will last another three decades! 1 year update: I've now had 2 spare starters and they both failed pretty much exactly 6 months after the replacement. Fits well and they work great for a while but WILL fail out of nowhere leaving you stuck with ZERO warning signs. DO NOT BUY THIS STARTER!
