Black and Gray LONG review ahead but I wanted to be honest.

LONG REVIEW: I've been looking for some slightly oversized slouchy knit hats for winter but could never find any that was what I was looking for, until now. I based my purchase on the photos (I know, never fully a great idea) and some reviews. I chose black and grey and after submitting my order, I continued to read reviews. Bad idea. Some reviews said the hats were too small and were not long enough for the slouch and stuck straight out. Some said they were long enough for the slouch but too stiff and no matter how they manipulated the hat, they couldn't replicate the slouch shown. So, I started to rethink my purchase. Especially when I saw another review with pictures for the exact same hats and the hats were not the same size nor the same hats. The black one was definitely smaller than the gray one and a completely different knit. Greeeaaat. I already bought it.Well, I just got them in the mail and I couldn't be happier. Seriously. Both hats are in the exact pattern shown. They are both the same length. Now to try them on. Here's are my honest opinions since I paid for them:1. They are double layered but the inside of the hats I received are not of fleece but also of knit material. I would suggest spraying the inside with static guard and letting them air dry before wearing. The scent of the static guard IMHO is pretty strong. I don't like it but the stuff has always worked for me on numerous different garments and accessories.2. The brim of the black one is just a tad bit smaller than the gray one. Does it effect the fit? No, it doesn't. It fits well around the head.3. The gray one, because it's a tad bit wider fits a bit looser than the black one. Does it effect the fit? There is no definite yes or no because this all comes down to what you were looking for. I personally wanted some looseness because I don't like hats being to tight across my head but I don't want it falling off either. The gray one has the qualities I wanted. If you wanted a tighter fit, the gray isn't for you.Now about that "slouch" everyone wants to achieve:Since I don't know what type of yarn was used to knit these (I do not know how to knit/crochet so I'm definitely no expert) I can't tell you if they are the same type of yarn.1. The black one for whatever reason (type of yarn or tightnessof stitching though both hats looks exactly the same) is stiffer than the gray one. Yes, after putting it on, it does stand straight up but with a little manipulation I got the slouch I wanted. Because the hats are long enough (yes both), all I did was pull some extra material from the bottom and fold it over the brim of the hat until I got my slouch just where I wanted it.2. The gray one is softer then the black one and gives almost the perfect slouch once you put it on. A few simple tugs and it's perfect. The black one has two holes. It's not a rip but the stitching in two small areas weren't joined, though not sure how that happens. Because I don't want the hassle of returning, I'm just going to see those parts together. An easy fix, though quality control needs to be better.Overall, I'm really happy with both. I like they are thicker and will my head warm. I highly recommend. Came just in time for the cold we're having now!
