Review on Canon PowerShot SX50 HS Camera by Mateusz Odachowski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Wonderful quality, one hundred percent satisfied!

I have been using Canon cameras for 8 years and have never regretted I chose the ultrazoom from x45 there were 2 competitors at the finish line, SX50 and HX300 from Sony I went to the store, where I tested each model for a couple of hours! eventually, Advantages of Sony over Canon: - lightning fast focus - the lens is slightly lighter (unfortunately, this does not affect the improvement of the picture quality) - looks more serious cons of sony: - very noisy at all ISO (send hello 20 megapixels on the same matrix size) - slow zoom - just slow in the process - inconvenient and incomprehensible menu (maybe I'm just used to Canon) - heavier and more Outcome: Having figured out the settings - an excellent camera, both for photos and videos, very decent video quality, excellent photo quality among competitors (of course, it doesn’t reach DSLRs in terms of working ISO and optics quality, but still quite worthy) You won’t be hired to work at National Geo or anywhere else with such a camera, and you won’ a thinking brain and properly growing hands, you can get great pictures! It's definitely worth the money (I bought it for 12k) + class 10 flash drive for 16GB Impressions after field tests: outdoors with a tripod temperature -5 time about an hour, about 15 minutes of FullHD video was shot about 350 frames without flash, the battery still shows full! autofocus works quickly and efficiently, but the video is not always correct Takeoff/Landing video examples shot with the SX50 here photo examples here I’m happy with the camera, the only thing that I personally lack, but it’s extremely rare, because the AF / MF buttons are somewhere on the body or on the lens, maybe sometimes you need to quickly switch from manual focus to automatic, but you can’t)

Pros
  • Optical zoom! gives excellent image quality (for its size of the matrix) Convenient and ergonomic layout of buttons and menus, a swivel screen, a good fast-charging flash, a pretty decent automatic, fast zoom
Cons
  • The viewfinder is a formality, its usefulness is doubtful, at ISO over 1600 the noise is very strong, and yes, access to the battery and flash drive is closed on a tripod (in fact, it turned out to be very inconvenient)
