I've been wanting a storage box from Synology for a long time. But the first impression was spoiled. Noise and rattle of fans. I even had to disassemble it to make sure that the fans did not hurt anything - it's just that Synology apparently saves a lot, puts the cheapest ones. You can hear them at the lowest revs. I will change. Thankfully this is easy to do. And neither the frail rubber inserts on the skid nor the rubber feet of the device can save you from hard vibrations. The case is also made of thick plastic. When the device is placed on furniture, it resonates and amplifies the rumble. When I enter the room, I immediately hear the annoying ringing of the storage room. Now I will look for the quietest and slowest hard drives. Of course, the software here is very good and many, like me, choose Synology because of it. There are almost no questions, everything works. Help in 2022. I haven't explored everything yet, and I think I'll be experimenting with all these apps and settings for a long time. The main drawback is the noise. Not for home use. It needs a separate room.
