Review on Show Chrome Accessories 53 429 Headlight by Dee Fadaifar

Spectacular visor gives the motorcycle a classic look!

I installed this on my Yamaha V-Star 950. I first covered the front fender with a blanket to protect it from falling parts. Then I removed the two outer screws holding the lamp assembly to the main body. Then I carefully pulled the lamp assembly out of the housing. Then I removed the two internal screws on either side of the assembly that attach it to the bezel ring. These two screws have a retainer so they can be difficult to remove. Use a #2 Phillips screwdriver and high torque. One of the screws was difficult to break and the soft metal screw head began to peel off. So I took some small pliers (vise grips) and clamped them onto the head of the screw and removed it with that. Note that two screws screw into one fixed internal thread, but there is also an additional set of flat square nuts that must be held when unscrewing. Once these two screws are removed, the bezel ring can be separated from the lamp assembly. I found that the diameter of the headlight visor was slightly larger than my bezel. Maybe the bezel was 6 and 7/8 inches and the visor was 7 inches. So I had to be very careful, I mean CAREFUL, to bend the visor a bit to make it a smaller diameter to fit under the bezel. freely. It can also be slid back and forth after the installation is complete. Some say they plan to use silicone to "glue" the visor to the bezel. Others said they used pads. I'm still thinking about the best way to attach the sight to the bezel ring so it doesn't move back and forth. All methods, their pros and cons are welcome!

  • Great for a small house
