After reading many good reviews I was a bit hesitant to buy these risers. But I am very happy that I finally decided and bought it. It is great! I had to lift a chair in my living room (headrest style) after a total knee replacement. No padding on the seat made it possible to raise the chair high enough for me to stand up easily. I placed one of these cups under each of the chair's four legs and voila! I can get up easily. Plus, the non-slip properties of the mugs made getting up even more secure (the chair slipped a bit on the hardwood floor every time I tried to get up. Last but not least, these mugs are very durable. I weigh over 300 pounds and I was a little concerned that I would be too much for them (they are plastic after all) but I've been using them almost constantly for the past few days and haven't had any issues I'm not sure how they work for beds but for chairs they're primo!
