Infrared 1500w patio garage heaterI am currently using it to heat in a one car garage. Here is my experience.Positives:+ Fast to heat up to full glow and you can feel it quickly, 5 sec. ( pic is after 5 seconds on). Keeps me warm at the work bench.+ one unit can help warm a family at a picnic table when hung close+ Easy to setup, Easy to function+ simple to understand and use the remote control.+ Timer setting helps to turn it off to save on the electric bill so you don't forget to.Negatives-the heater is not large, 1500w at max setting same as the retail ceramic and oil filled radiator heaters. The warmth is limited in width and distance. Its below freezing here and Half way into the garage is where I can barely feel it. I need to be about 6' or closer to be warm.Final thoughtsFor quick heat it's the best heater if you are close enough to it. In a garage situation like mine, 2 units would be better. Or in conjunction with a ceramic or oil filled heater also running to more fully heat the whole room. In a patio situation especially if there is a breaze the infrared heater would be preferable, feels like the sun on your skin. For economical continuous heating in an enclosed area, it is hard to beat an oil filled heater, but they are slow to warm the room. A Ceramic heater with the infrared is a good combo for keeping me warm and quickly heating my cold garage.
