The tool worked as intended. However, the overall quality is disappointing. Obviously it's not intended for anything other than a job. It doesn't stand up to regular use. When the box and carrying case were opened, the back of the case was already separated from the front of the case to protect the horizontal ruler. See photo. Poor quality control and cheap product. There were no instructions for assembly or use. I found a video on You-Tube that helped me to create and use a similar tool. I used this "tool" very carefully and carefully. The top bar and slide blocks are lightweight plastic and I think they will break if dropped on tile or concrete. I also didn't over tighten the thumbscrews to avoid stripping the threads. Not worth $24. Maybe worth 1/3 or 1/2 the cost.
