Lesson Learned: Lightweight Covers

Bought these for my 2002 Ford Escape. They are approximately as described so there really is nothing misleading or false about the promotional offer. Please note that they consist of black plastic "frames" only, there is no clear plastic in the middle parts. It's just empty space. The frames are shaped accordingly and cover the entire taillight but do not adhere to the surface. In other words, they "curve" a little in the middle, creating a gap of about 1/2 inch from the taillight itself. This and the fact that there is very little "strong car tape" (product description) to hold it in place (just a strip on the left and right side of each cover and it's not very strong/durable) , makes the whole thing shaky . -drink; Both covers were removed at a car wash commonly used at local gas stations. And yes, I cleaned the taillights thoroughly first with ammonia cleaner and then with alcohol and let them dry for a few hours before "gluing" these covers. I doubt the $37 cost. Yes I thought the price would be the same as the taillight remodel but ok. these things are about as strong as a plastic milk carton, and the least a retailer or manufacturer can do is add double-sided tape to the entire lid. I decided to put them on a shelf in the garage and write them up as a lesson.
