I bought this lamp with the TV cabinet it was designed for, JVC HD ILA 52-786. When attempting to replace the entire lamp and housing assembly as supplied, the alignment pins inside the TV would not slide into the alignment tabs on the replacement housing. The mounting screws tighten, but the housing will not attach. After several tries, the bottom pin snapped into place. When attempting to insert another pin, the eye of the screw/locating pin broke completely. One star deduction. Now that it was broken, I checked and matched the holes on the ear to the pin in the TV's lamp housing. They matched in placement but the mounting holes in the broken ear were too small so it broke off. I removed the spare lamp base and put the JVC factory base back in (use gloves when servicing these lamps), everything came out with no issues and no need to touch the lamp itself. Once assembled, I put the lamp and housing back into the TV, after which it snapped easily into place. I tightened the screws, closed the lamp access door, and turned on the TV. After a few minutes the image was bright, sharp and clear. It looked better than new! In addition, the information bar at the top of the image is active again, showing signal strength, HD status, station ID and content being viewed, as well as channel information and labels. I was amazed at how much better the picture turned out. It's always been a great TV and even with a minor setback, I have no regrets about replacing the case. The original lamp lasted 10 years with many, many hours of use. The "Replace Bulb" message was displayed four times during the life of the original bulb. Now, if this replacement bulb lasts as long or even half as long, I'll be completely satisfied. I will update if there are problems.
