I taped this filter to a box floor fan and let it run 24 hours a day. It removes small particles like viruses. I have allergies, COPD, am 81 years old, former cigarette smoker. I go to an allergist every 6 months and use nebulizers. Need all the help I can get. Have one in the bedroom and the other in the living room. This is very helpful. Install a larger fan in the air conditioning duct. Get a 20" x 20" floor fan that has the controls on the outer metal panel rather than in the center of the motor. I use extra wide tape to ensure a tight seal between fan frame and filter. There were commercial and professional air purifiers. (I used to work for a pharmaceutical research company.) This device does not provide sterile air. I'm only interested in removing allergens and viruses or more. I'm happy with it for home use. Much luck. Stop smoking.
