Review on Enhanced Shop Fox D2057A Small Charcoal Grey Adjustable Mobile Base - Unlock Stellar Performance by David Ramirez

Poor quality control

For the price of this mobile base, Shopfox should be ashamed for bringing a product like this to market. I have ordered and exchanged this item 3 times to get the final product in good condition. The first 2 times the bad weld spatter we left in the pipe prevented all the pipes from joining together. I tried to get each block to work, but each time the problems persisted or something new popped up. Of the 3 blocks all had scratches on the paint. I understand this is an industrial tool but a little presentation wouldn't hurt, especially when they went to great lengths to paint the thing, but it came out shoddy every time. Single. once! All 3 pcs. I got it, the stickers on it were uneven. Cosmetic again, but it drives me nuts looking at the inconsistency in their placement. I can't imagine how much time or money it would take to use a template to apply these decals. At least one roller bearing of the 2 units was seized. Why didn't the castors have a locking mechanism? Casters were the only improvement over the previous version, but the new design has removed the pre-drilled holes in the cross member and uses pinch bolts instead. As a result, the bolts are pushed outward and rely on the bolt to stay in place. This is a terrible idea because 1. It could pose a potential hazard if, say, a shoelace gets caught on it, 2. If it's a vibrating mechanism, which is VERY likely, the screws will loosen and the entire base will fall apart . I'm sure it was also a lazy and economical method. TLDR: For twice the price of the Bora mobile base, you get twice the trouble. You're lucky if the base works on the first delivery. This is a reliable and luxurious product, but not without many flaws due to the lack of quality control.
