Works well, make sure you have USB 3

Works as advertised. I've used it on various 2015-2020 Macs with OBS. However, remember that USB bandwidth is critical for a good experience. If you have USB 2.0, like previous Macs, you'll get choppy video. There's enough bandwidth for this Thunderbolt port, so if you can find a USB to Thunderbolt adapter it should work just fine.
