If you do NOT use a turn signal then everything is fine. But you can get this functionality for $17 less. When checking the indicator, it would reliably indicate a right turn. However, when a left turn is subsequently indicated, the light does not indicate a left turn, it just cycles through the different lighting modes. (solid, blinking, etc.) Also, the left/right buttons are so small that it was easy to press the blinking mode switch instead. Also, while testing, I looked at the backlit remote control sitting next to me. I would never be sure of expressing my intentions correctly in cars. Plus, you never have to look down next to cars to make sure you're pressing the right button. I have a recumbent bike with all sorts of flashing LEDs. I will use traditional left/right hand signals to indicate my intentions. I want my full focus to be on finding cars, not messing around with a tiny remote control device and never knowing if the cars around me are actually in the right mode or pointing in the right direction. It's just not safe.
