This valve spring compressor does its job perfectly. I've used it to remove some dual spring valves and had no problems. Rotation is smooth and effortless, the tool feels relaxed, and the cages are tight and easy to change. Now for the sophistication. must be completely removed from the frame before reinserting into the case. It's not difficult, it just increases the time of using the tool. The frame is tubular steel rather than solid steel. This is fine for this purpose, as the strongest valve springs rarely require more than 200 pounds of force, and steel tubing can definitely handle that kind of force. My concern is that this tool is in a magazine where it can be dropped, hit, etc. This could result in a dent that could compromise its structural integrity. Conclusion. If you need a valve spring compressor but aren't a pro, buy one. If you don't use it every day, the problems won't affect you significantly and buying a better device is just a waste of money. Even a pro can get by with it if they treat it well and don't mind spending 60 seconds building it every time they use it.
