I needed a better solution for my 9m HDMI cable from my media cabinet to our Sony Bravia with 4K HDR/DolbyVision support. I didn't want to use any other HDMI cable and was reading about HDMI over Ethernet so I decided to give it a try. This model allows you to stream HDR content from my TV to the receiver and back and also supports ARC so this is what you need if you need audio return over ethernet. I ran some more Category 6 cables from the TV to the media cabinet and plugged them in at both ends. It worked like a charm and I didn't have to change any settings on existing hardware. Note that the ethernet from your receiver behind your TV will result in you mounting the transmitter directly. It does not work over existing switches or hubs. I am satisfied with the performance so far. The boxes feel solid, not cheap plastic. I had no dropouts or problems with any signals I shuffled back and forth.
