This mattress topper is great! It's not hissing at all, it's very smooth. I was really surprised how soft it was to be honest. I actually slept properly that night while the sheets were still wet. I bought the queen size and it fits very well, covering the entire top of the mattress with the waterproof part. There is extra space on the sides. So if at some point I decide to add a topper to the mattress it will not be a problem that it will still fit the sides of the bed. I have an adjustable sofa bed and had no problem with it slipping out of the corners when my head or legs went up and down. As for waterproofing, a glass was spilled on the bed but nothing made it through the cover into the mattress. I wash this separately from everything else as it needs to be washed without fabric softener and tumble dried on a low heat to avoid damaging the lining. I also had to make sure the non-waterproof side was facing the drum and do a second spin to remove all the water, but I expected that with any coating. All in all this is a really great mattress topper and well worth it, I highly recommend it.
