First of all, the power cord is short. The idea is that a small cord is plugged into an outlet and the device is attached to the wall with a single screw. This requires a lot of bending of the cable, which is difficult as the wire is very strong (which is a good thing in itself). I haven't fixed it to the wall yet because the tension on the screw will be very high and there is no suitable place next to my socket to mount it (one side is plaster, the other is covered with a steel plate) ; A few inches more and it would have worked. The UI is fine, but the manual should state that if you first turn it on after sunset, the "Sunrise to Sunset" option (which I bought it for) won't activate. have to wait for the next day unless you also enable manual mode - and there should be a better explanation as to why "sunset" mode has a time value that needs to be set. For all its flaws it looks well built so I expect it will last quite a while.
