I have access to the most accurate load gauges in the test and measurement industry and just ran a quick experiment. Before I started the actual test, I did some quick dirty tests like attaching it to a post that supports the main beam of my house and pulling it out. I've always managed to take it off, so I didn't realize the magnet would weigh around 405 pounds. attached a magnet to my moving truss and lowered it until the magnet touched the steel base. The base had a small notch in the middle so there was a surface area not in contact with the magnet, my results are skewed towards the low values. When I have time, I'll take a solid record and run it again. Results: Using this quick test, I measured 319.9 pounds. I was counting on 60 pounds. Very cool
