We were told that this is a direct replacement for our 2011 RX350 and are very pleased with the results. The old OEM rusted and started to fail. Installation is very easy and took about 10 minutes. The only tool I used was a flat head screwdriver to remove the metal bracket on either end of the rack. Note for those doing this installation alone. A PILLAR IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO HOLD THE REAR DOOR UP. Do this one side at a time. This is a step-by-step description of what I did when installing these QiMox racks. Try to follow my steps at your own risk.1. Before installing, remove all 4 metal brackets on the old posts with a flat head screwdriver.2. Hold the tailgate with the hand closest to the center of the vehicle.3. Remove the top rack mount from one side and clean the joint with a rag or paper towel.4. Connect the top of the new QiMox to the rear door.5. Allow the tailgate to drop down a bit and place the underside of the new brace on the plastic strip between the weatherstrip and the body (you'll see what I mean when this part becomes a shelf on the car - this is where the tailgate should support its weight assuming the other old strut isn't totally dead .Repeat on the other side.Bought April 2021 - will update if something goes wrong. If there isn't an update then we assume it's better .
