My 9 inch iPad frame is pretty light but if it were heavy it would press the suction cup against the dashboard. strong suction power. Once the iPad is attached, I don't feel any tendency for anything to come loose or fall off. It feels very safe even with vibration and shock while driving. I don't use a horizontal blind mount like I do on my 2014 Toyota Corolla car. My only concern is that hooking the frame by hand when the iPad is in the frame is awkward, but attaching the iPad after hooking the frame is too awkward as it tends to fall off the hook with no iPad weight. So I put the iPad in the frame first, just taking my time to line up the hooks with the holes. Then it looks really strong. It goes a long way to using this as a GPS. Overall I am very happy with the product for the price.
