These clips are easy to use but did not provide a reliable connection to either the 16 AWG power cable or the 18 AWG lamp leads. It might work better on larger 14 AWG power cable, but the smaller 18 AWG lamp leads easily slipped out of the jack sockets even when locked. I had to tin the lamp leads with additional solder to make the effective wire diameter larger so that it would work with these connectors. But even when securely snapped onto the power and lamp leads, about half of these connectors made an intermittent connection when the wire was slightly jiggled. I didn't feel confident that after I buried the cable the connection would remain reliable, especially in the long term when corrosion sets in due to contact between dissimilar metals in the connector vs. the copper wire. So I am sending these connectors back and will instead use the "old-fashioned" method of splicing and soldering each connection from the lamp to the power cable because I don't want to have to dig up the cable in the future to repair failed connections.
