Easy to install. It was initially louder than the hard drive it replaced (a failed Maxtor hard drive). But I think the noise is gone. Either that or when I later replaced the motherboard which increased the CPU fan noise it just drowned out the noise of that hard drive. I'm skeptical about the latter option because the seek noise was pretty crisp, so I don't think the fan noise could have masked it that well. In any case, the hard drive has been working fine for more than two years --- and at least in my computer I can't hear it.
