Review on Enhanced Precision - AmScope B120C Magnification Illumination Double Layer Microscope by Devin Jirsa

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Wonderful inexpensive microscope

I first bought a microscope and a 1.3 megapixel digital camera and was so disappointed with the camera that I she returned. However, the microscope itself impressed me, so I bought it myself. As a specialist in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology I spent many hours with a light microscope in labs at school and I needed something comparable without the price tag. It definitely met my expectations. The first microscope I bought was clearly bought and returned earlier. It didn't affect performance, I only noticed it because the second microscope I bought was boxed. I had to reattach the lenses as they weren't attached yet and wipe the grease off some of the non-moving parts, but it was worth it. The optics work flawlessly, all the details move smoothly. Although the images do not match the microscope, all images through the eyepiece are sharp and clear. I even added the tick's leg with a 40x lens, although I wouldn't recommend using it as a stereo microscope, you CAN see detailed anatomy if you use a camera and maximum light. UPDATE 9/25/18 I recently had to order a lens (40x) and found that a replacement was only $20 from AmScope. Although it took a while for me to get back to you, I received an email about the delay and was asked if I wanted to cancel my order or just wait for the details. I decided to wait and it should arrive soon. I also prefer my microscope over the ones at school and use it for projects as it doesn't get overused and I can see my samples well. I can say with confidence that I will buy AmScope products again.
