Review on ASUS TUF B660M PLUS Motherboard Cancelation by Stanislaw Was ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best price for such a product, I will buy more!

As in the case with the case, I almost immediately chose what I needed, namely the ASUS TUF GAMING B660M-PLUS, but then I decided to study the market a bit to find out if I made the right choice, I learned a lot of new things, but in the end the choice still fell on ASUS TUF GAMING B660M-PLUS, because other models either had less USB 3.0 or had other disadvantages, there was also not a very large selection and I could only choose from MicroATX, because the old case only contained it, so I decided that in in principle, this is a good motherboard, and even now, seeing the arrival of new motherboards, I don’t regret that I took it, because even the more sophisticated ROG has, of course, advantages in technology (although I didn’t notice these advantages in technologies at all on my last ROG), well, there is a second radiator on M2, however, it has only 2x 3.0 and 1x 3.0 Gen 2, while TUF 3.0 Gen 2 has as many as 4 pieces, which is a definite plus, although that Type-C has more, but I compensated for this by the presence of Type-C on the new case, in general, I got out) I liked that ASUS ated the software, little of it is installed from the Internet itself, so the main Armory Crate program is convenient and does not interfere with its pop-up widget and does not require the installation of third-party programs, since it contains everything in itself, this is a definite plus. Otherwise, the mother does not heat up, looks stylish, in general, everything has already been described in the pros, only the price is frustrating, perhaps it would be cheaper, but apparently these are the current trends and soon a good computer will cost almost like a car;

Pros
  • - Stylish appearance; - 4x USB 3.0 Gen 2, 1x USB 3.0, as well as the presence of Type-C (and it seems like in a more sophisticated ROG version, USB 3.0 is smaller); - Availability of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Wi-Fi gives about 450 Mb / s speed, downloading is at a speed of 45-50 Mb / s on Steam at 5 GHz; - It doesn't get very hot (I currently have 5 fans, in addition to 2 on the cooler, it doesn't heat up above 40 degrees at all, or this sensor is buggy); - A very top-end Armory Crate program, which itself is installed at Windows startup and from it you can install both drivers and a package of additional programs that rely on the motherboard. The program is useful and has many different functions, which is cool; - 6x 4-pin ports for fans (3 in the "northern" part of the mother, 3 in the "southern", although, as for me, it was worth placing a couple on the right side where the main power plug is located);
Cons
  • - The price, I don’t know how fair it is, but when I bought myself an i7 8700k in 2022, I also bought an ASUS ROG STRIX B360-G GAMING motherboard, which was also good (although the software it didn’t have very good ). It cost around 6,500, while 4 years have passed and motherboards are already almost like processors, I bought this one for 19 thousand, and okay, it would be some kind of Z chipset, but this is B without the possibility of overclocking the CPU and in theory it should cost clearly cheaper, but the price is such and, as for me, for the motherboard is very high, no matter how good it is, but this is apparently a feature of the current generation and maybe they will even fall in price soon to more or less normal prices, because they should The 13th generation CPUs will be released on the same motherboards, but let's see, in principle, these motherboards have existed for a long time, but you can’t directly say that they have reduced the price a lot; - Clamped the radiator for the lower M2 (although in the version with DDR5 memory, this radiator is);
