Review on Samsung Galaxy Lite Tablet Oxford by Victor Garro

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great mid-range tablet with good performance. Here is my detailed review.

*UPDATED REVIEW after using this tablet for a while. *Firstly, I usually buy my tablets and phones from Revain, but when I went to buy this tablet (on release date) it was out of stock so I bought it from a store near my home. Also, I'm a techie, so the purpose of my review is to help you decide if this is (or isn't) the best mid-range tablet for you. Below I list the pros and cons I found. Resolution and sharpness of the TFT screen. First of all, S6 Lite screen is TFT screen, not Super Amoled screen, ORIGINAL S6 Tab 2019 has Amoled screen. However, at 224ppi, this screen is crisp and soft white, NOT super bright white due to the TFT screen. However, I found the colors strong. And when watching YouTube videos, they completely filled the screen and the videos were very clear! In addition, reading in the Kindle app is very clear. + Operating System - 10.0, User Interface - 2.1 Samsung. I switched to a software update as soon as I received this tablet and this update enabled the double tap feature to wake up the screen. Make sure you update it because before the May 2020 security update the double tap didn't work, the update fixed it! + S Pen. The S Pen works great and has a few features that I love. The S Pen is easy to use, gliding across the screen without slowing down. Also, it doesn't scratch the screen. To launch the S Pen, simply hold it to the right side of the tablet, about half an inch away. Then tap the SPen icon to open the SPen function menu.* The SPen does NOT need to be charged, paired, etc. I actually keep my S Pen in the Chiffion Rose Samsung Book Cover as it has a magnetic S Pen slot inside. .+ Tablet Size/Screen Ratio 1. I like this 10.4 inch tablet because it fits easily in my large bag or tote/backpack. 2. Screen ratio 81.6%. The frames are very thin. This screen is great for watching videos, movies, reading and I use it for MS Word, Excel and more. + It has a 3.5 headphone jack! The flagship Samsung S6 (2019) and Samsung S5e (2019) do NOT have a 3.5 headphone jack! That's just one of the many reasons I bought this tablet. With Bluetooth headsets, they need to be charged and sometimes don't last that long. + Internal memory / external memory card info - this tablet is advertised with 64GB of internal memory. However, after installing the OS, factory apps, and my own apps, I was left with 44GB of available internal storage. That's enough space for future applications, updates, etc. + memory card storage. I have found that I can mount an SD card up to 1TB. However, I have 128GB installed (so far) and there are 40GB left. + Speed / Responsiveness / Battery Temperature / Battery Life. The tablet is very snappy, doesn't get stuck and doesn't freeze. The battery is non-removable and does not overheat even when downloading apps, watching videos, etc. During normal use, the temperature ranges from 80 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit and after downloading apps, watching videos, etc., it will rise to 90 degrees for a minute or two, which is normal, and come back quickly. from 80 to 85. I'm using a free widget called Battery Widget Reborn from Playstore. It shows the remaining battery capacity on my screen and when I click on it it shows how long the battery has been used and how much time is left on the battery. + Battery Life: The battery is 7040 mAh after reaching 100%. I found the battery lasted longer than my Samsung Tab A 10.1 2019. + WiFi.802.11 a/b/g/n, dual band AC. I use ATT UVERSE and this tablet has excellent and fast wifi. Even outside, in my backyard, he still gets 3 bars. I am very satisfied with the WiFi of this tablet. It also captures the local WiFi perfectly on the go. Telephone A51, but better than I thought. + sound quality. There are 2 small internal speakers so the sound is good, but I also tested the sound with a bluetooth speaker and the sound is great. Even my wired headphones sound great on this tablet. Cons (3): 1. The biggest downside I noticed is the lack of a Super Amoled screen like the 2019 Tab S6, instead it has a regular backlit TFT screen that isn't as "bright white" as mine old Samsung S4 with Super Amoled. The S6 Lite is more like a very soft white, but the screen has NO yellow cast to me, just a softer white.2. screenshots. To take a screenshot, I have to FAST press the power button and the volume down button at the same time. However, my Tab A tablet, Phone A51, allows me to swipe the edge of my hand across the screen, this tablet does not. Hopefully the next update will fix that. Right now I'm used to quickly pressing the power button and volume down button to take a screenshot.3. No DEx. The desktop/laptop function is missing from the S6 Lite. To be honest, I rarely used DEx on my Tab S4.* Should you consider buying this S6 Lite tablet? I personally recommend YES if: 1. You don't need a Super Amoled screen like the regular S6 and want to buy a Samsung tablet at a reasonable price. You need a very good mid-range tablet with S Pen capability.3. You want to spend around 350 per tablet instead of 750 per tablet (for the flagship Tab S6).4. You need a 3.5 headphone jack, the S6 Lite has it. The Tab S6 and Tab S5e don't have a 3.5-inch headphone jack. My overall rating is 4.6 stars, rounded up to 5 stars, mostly due to the non-Super Amoled screen, but I knew that BEFORE I BUYED THE TABLET. Well I hope this review helped you make a decision about this tablet. Thank you for reading my review.
