Colors will granulate and dry BRIGHT on this paper

I LOVE this paper. I've tested several paints/inks on it (Daniel Smith especially granular earth pigments and lighter pigments, DaVinci, Winsor Newton etc) and they all did GREAT on this paper. I was particularly impressed by how vibrant the earth tones were on this paper - they're usually muted when dry, but something about the Leda line of paper (including their hot-press and mixed-media papers) makes the colors pop when they dry. I usually use Daniel Smith's purple hematite as the base color for watercolor paper because it granulates like crazy, has a pink tint and then forms a very grainy dark sediment on top. For some reason this color came out quite light on this paper - it separated well and the black was crisp and strong and the bottom pink was very light and it even split into a third color - a subtle purple - which I have. I've never seen this work on a paper I've used it on before and it's one of my favorite colors. So it was a complete surprise. So I'm not sure what size they are, but this combined with the color of the paper makes the color more vibrant. The surface is pebbly rather than grainy (if that makes sense) - the texture of the paper is a coarser cold-pressed texture. rather than tiny, uniform grains. I haven't had any issues with significant warping or hard edges, or the ink/water soaking into the paper faster than I could work with it. I don't know what's wrong with this line, but it's true. loves watercolors, especially those with unique qualities. I can't wait to really explore the different lines of drawing and see what this paper can really do on a much larger scale. Highly recommended.
