Texture Expected From Watercolor Painting

As someone new to watercolor painting, I like to see results based on paper texture. So far my favorite is cold pressed paper. There's this "bumpy" look I've always liked in watercolor painting. Leda Art Supply's cold-pressed watercolor paper has just the right amount of texture to create the look I like without being so harsh that it's difficult for me to control what I'm trying to do. The weight of the paper doesn't curl or fluctuate due to the wateriness of my paint, which I appreciate…

High-quality cold-pressed cotton rag

I am really impressed with the quality of Leda's cold-pressed watercolor paper. While I've tried many different types of paper, I don't think I've used one as well since I bought my last Arches watercolor pad. It's not a block, but a good, thick, cold-pressed cotton rag. It has a light texture and holds color well. I was a bit hesitant to work wet like I usually do because it's not a block, but it didn't bleed through and the texture made the color fairly controllable (I'm just saying that…

Really good quality

Leda Art Supply Cold Pressed Watercolor 2 Pack (48 pages total) 300 grams - 140lbs Fine 25% cotton Italian art paper, slightly textured for classic techniques (A4 size 8, 25 x 11.5 inches ) This Leda Art cold pressed watercolor paper is amazing quality. Mine didn't curl up when I poured water on it. It has a lot of texture that lends itself perfectly to watercolor. It's quite thick so it can withstand a lot of water without damaging the paper. When working with watercolor paper, it's important…

Nice paper but you won't get 48 sheets

Firstly I have a lot of watercolor pads and I've never seen one sold as a page. Books are sold by the page, sheets are sold as sheets. If you buy a pack of 500 "pages" of carbon paper but realize it's actually 250 sheets of paper because they expect you to use both sides, you won't be happy with that either. But enough of that on paper. Many write about it in their reviews, but I don't see it. The paper is normal, but the surface is not strong at all. Even the tape tore the surface when I used…

Very good watercolor paper

After I found out from the manufacturer that this paper is vegan, I received 2 cold-pressed pads, which I am very happy about. Craft paints, my Windsor and Newton Cotman student paints, and some of my artist paints all looked great on him. First I tried it wet on wet. The paper didn't absorb all the water right away and didn't curl a lot, which is unusual - my 300gsm paper tends to warp a lot if I don't glue it, but I didn't glue it for this review . Ink moves across this paper, rises well, and

Beautiful texture, not easy to remove, but makes beautiful pictures

Watercolor paper is so different. Just take a look. WHAT IS IT FOR? It comes in two pillows. The binding is not attached to the cover so you can fold it. IS IT RUNNING? I always staple my paper to the guitar board so it doesn't wrinkle like it's laminated. In this case it has a slight waviness, but when tied and dried it is not a problem. on topic. If that's not a problem for you then this is a great paper. CHARACTERISTICS This paper has a very pleasant texture. It is softer than other papers…

Thick paper with beautiful teeth

Leda paper is really good. I usually use a mixed media backing because I like its highly visible texture and ability to work with wet materials with very little creasing. hot pressed Leda watercolor paper and see for yourself. Disclaimer: I have not tested paper with actual watercolors. For me the issue is the ability to handle wet paper and how the texture looks. The hot-pressed sheet feels lighter despite the paper being the same weight. The cold-pressed finish, as you'd expect, had a more…

Colors will granulate and dry BRIGHT on this paper

I LOVE this paper. I've tested several paints/inks on it (Daniel Smith especially granular earth pigments and lighter pigments, DaVinci, Winsor Newton etc) and they all did GREAT on this paper. I was particularly impressed by how vibrant the earth tones were on this paper - they're usually muted when dry, but something about the Leda line of paper (including their hot-press and mixed-media papers) makes the colors pop when they dry. I usually use Daniel Smith's purple hematite as the base color
