Review on Chrome RP54870 Reno Repair Trim Kit: Enhance Delta 600 Series Tub and Shower Trim Kits with Delta Faucet Shower Handle by Chris Wilson

Benefits: An economical solution to upgrade a 25 year old shower/bathtub faucet. Reasonable price thanks to Revain. Cons: Changes hot/cold water operation when changing faucet. I called Delta and they said you can use the reversed ball to bring it back to its original position or use the previous ball. I don't like the idea of using an old ball because it's plastic and old. RP16423 is a Delta P/N Reverse Ball and currently retails for $18.63 and ships first to Revain. not optimal as the ball and water inlets are misaligned. I thought maybe people installed them wrong but even the manual says clockwise will be hot. Delta customer service was very quick and helpful, easy to understand etc. They were under the impression that it should work the other way around unless the tubes are swapped. So it's still a mystery as to why Delta designed it that way, but other than that it was a great upgrade. Be careful of the orientation of the parts when you remove them and be careful of small parts that can fall down the drain. I will continue to review Delta products for support, quality, and willingness to provide upgrade options in the future.
