I bought this particular heater because it had the best reviews for the price. My heater in my van broke in October so I needed something to defrost the windows in the winter. It works well. Here are my recommendations. Make sure your window is clear of ice and snow. Defrosting with any other method takes a very long time. Also, this heater only heats a small spot at a time. I walk about 10-15 minutes before I leave. I also turn on the defrost on my car, although it doesn't blow hot air it helps defrost the car. After the heater has been in one spot for 10-15 minutes, it warms up the windshield enough for me to drive safely. I can then walk, and as I walk, the rest quickly thaws. I also don't look through the small hole to drive. It's also good to be blown on while driving. Its power is enough to warm a person, but it's better than nothing. It won't replace a heater in a car and won't be as powerful, but it works great. I also always turn it off and unplug it when I'm not using it. Just to be on the safe side.
